CURRENT STATUS OF MASSRID
What is going on?
1. We are planning a member meeting for Spring 2024, at which we can vote in a new Board. Make sure YOU are a voting member and watch for MassRID emails regarding a meeting date and information to consider before the meeting. If paying for your membership doesn't work on our site, you can email Ami at CMP@massrid.org after you've paid via PayPal:
2. At our last General Meeting, spring of 2022, there were no names put forth and no volunteers for any of the Board positions. From that time until this, Shana and Ami have put all our available time into maintaining the minimum functions of MassRID: banking and bookkeeping, tax paperwork, CEU processing and the membership website, with communications via email about events of interest.
3. We, members, need to understand what RID has communicated with us about the future of Affiliate Chapters. We have choices to make. Read RID's report on AC Strategic Recommendations and/or view the Town Hall meeting hosted by CEO Star Grieser and AC Liason Carolyn Ball.
4. RID has put a renewed effort into supporting Affiliate Chapters and is ready with training, guidance, and support. We are lucky to have a Region I representative who is engaged and available.
5. Do YOU think MassRID is an important organization to keep functioning? Contact Ami at CMP@massrid.org for information about becoming an active part of running MassRID. The Bylaws have NOT changed. We did consider rewriting them but did not go through with that. You can find them above, under "Governance." We found that Sociocracy is an effective way to run a meeting but did not require rewriting of the Bylaws/Constitution. Nonetheless, they are in need of review and updating.
